Aastha Chaudhary talks about the demise of co-star Sidharth Shukla

Aastha Chaudhary has discovered her true love. On September 10, the actress and Aditya Banerjee, a doctor by profession, conducted a Roka ceremony in his birthplace of Allahabad. “We had finalized the date in August after Aditya met my family,” Aastha, who was last seen in the TV program Kesari Nandan, tells Bombay Times exclusively. “Because there was no other day available, we opted to hold our Roka ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Sadly, on September 2, I lost a great friend (Sidharth Shukla); thus, the ceremony was scaled back even further. It didn’t feel proper to upload any images or talk about it earlier.” In 2008, Aastha collaborated with Sidharth on his debut television show, Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na. Even after the show finished, they remained friends. During a chat, the actress claims she told Sidharth about her roka and future wedding.

“I was quite close to Sidharth,” she recalls. “In fact, I told him about my roka during our second last conversation. He was overjoyed for me. ‘Sahi hai,’ he’d said in his own flair. I am incredibly happy for you. ‘Ghar basa le.’ After that, on August 17, I last spoke with him. I’m still in mourning and haven’t come to grips with my loss.” After suffering a major heart attack, Sidharth died in September.
