Handsome hunk Sahil Anand, who impressed viewers in movies like Student of the Year and Babloo Happy Hai, is elated to debut on the digital space.

The young lad will be seen as one of the leads in Viu’s comedy musical drama series ‘Banned’ produced by Bodhi Tree Productions.

The series stars Paresh Pahuja, Deepak Kalra and Zeishan Quadri along with Sahil in lead roles. It aims to take the audiences on a roller coaster life through the journey of four Punjabi jatts who get politically caged for their anti-social act for their music video.

He says, “I have been watching a lot web-series on Netflix and Amazon Prime. I was interested in doing one but the ones that were offered to me were not exciting enough. Then I was approached for Banned. It had an amazing story which forced me to accept it. I am also working with some great talent from the industry.”

When asked how different the series is from others, he adds, “Banned has all the emotions. It is a feature film with 4 songs. Audience will enjoy it like a movie. It is also made like a Bollywood movie with power packed drama and entertainment. You get to see all genres in a single series which keeps you captivated throughout the episode too.”

Sahil feels web is the next big thing. “The future is web. Netflix and everyone is taking over. You name the biggest star or any A-lister, they all want to work in this medium. Few are already working on digital space. The content is so gripping that there are hardly people who are watching TV. I feel web gives freedom. Also on TV, you have to give cut to cut episodes but here at least the quality is given importance than the quantity. I feel movie actors who don’t get opportunity and have to struggle to get a role have this platform to showcase their skills and talent. It is a boon for many actors.”

Well said, Sahil!
