Karishma Sharma, who really sizzled in ALTBalaji show, Ragini MMS Returns, is all set to feature in one more Ekta Kapoor web series.

Says the actress, “Hum focuses on the relationship between three sisters. My character is an over-ambitious troublemaker who will do anything to get her way. I would not call her negative, as it is not wrong to want to get ahead in life. Today, everybody has good and bad shades.”

It essentially seems to be a love triangle involving Karishma, Ridhima Pandit, their elder sister and Kushal Tandon. “The best part of web content is that it is fresh, and secondly, you shoot at a more leisurely pace. Also, we shoot like films. Having said that, I really don’t distinguish between the mediums. For me, the character at hand is more important than the medium.”

Karishma began with TV (Pavitra Ristha and Ye Hai Mohabbatein). Since then, she has moved to web (Life Sahi Hai) and films. After a small role in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, she is all set to essay a lead in the film Hotel Milan, scheduled to release in September.

Is Hum as bold as Ragini? “Well, as you must have seen from the promo, there are few love-making scenes, but then they are important. How else do you show a couple in love? They are only part of the narrative while the story is much bigger and has a wider ambit.”

Going on, Karishma quips, “I really can’t understand the fuss; I take those scenes as any other. What you see on screen is mechanical. A lot more is shown on international web series like Game of Thrones, so I guess it is ok.”

Were you a bit uncomfortable enacting those scenes? “No, for I knew Siddharth Gupta (Ragini) and Kushal Tandon (Hum) from before. I would have been a bit edgy if I was asked to do the same with say Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan, whom I really admire.”

“Kushal is a very sweet guy. He would bring food for me and Riddhima Pandit (who plays my elder sister), who dotes on me like a mother. This show has given me three best friends. Now, when I work elsewhere, I miss the same bonding.”

How was the horror experience of Ragini? “Lots of fun. I still remember one scene where they had dug a grave on a rainy night and packed me in. Here there are lots of emotions. Both the concepts are completely different and I have thoroughly enjoyed each.”

Way to go, Karishma!!
