Talented and good-looking actor Ruslaan Mumtaz has come a long way in his acting career. From playing the boyish roles to elan, he will now be seen in a very mature persona in Vikram Bhatt’s upcoming web-series, Zakhmi. The series is produced by Loneranger Productions and Jio Cinema.
The first promo and poster of the series directed by Arbaaz Ali Moghul is really appealing, and the revenge drama has indeed caught the attention of the web-watchers.
Says Ruslaan, “When Vikram Bhatt Sir offered me this role, he told me that I now look like a man. And the time has come to play more mature roles and play a man on screen (smiles). So yes, you can say that I have grown with this character, as for the first time I will be seen in a very mature role.”
Ask him about the promo indicating the early death of his character, and he is quick to say, “This is a suspense and revenge drama. As for my role, I cannot reveal anything about it. But I can only tell you that it is not what people are assuming in the promo.”
The series stars Tia Bajpai in an author-backed role, that of a raped and beaten woman seeking revenge. It features actors Vipul Gupta, Peeyush Suhaney, Snigdha Akolkar, Randheer Rai in vital roles.
Giving a special mention to co-actor Tia, Ruslaan states, “She is a very good actor. She has the innocence needed for the role. She is the main protagonist of the series and everything that happens, happens around her and in her life. She has done a great and convincing job. The series is looking really good.”
