Enchanting beauty, Eisha Chopra, who featured in Neerja, rose to fame with web shows like Bewafa Se Wafa, What The Folks and Official CEOgiri. After Neerja’s release, she joined the cast of the critically acclaimed Prisoners of War aka Bandhhi Yudhh Ke on Star Plus, the political thriller directed by Nikkhil Advani.

In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Eisha talks about her journey, shows and more…

How did you start your journey?

I was 6 when I first went on stage. I am from Delhi and was associated with theatre from my teenage years. I did a few plays and then went on to do several ads. Acting was always my passion. It wasn’t something I wanted to pursue professionally. I loved doing theatre and it came naturally to me. I did a lot of ads before I bagged Neerja, and then I came into the web space.

What difficulties did you face during the process?

When I entered this industry, I hardly knew anyone. I did not have a lot of contacts. Hence, it was a scary move. To shift to a new place with no support was a big decision. However, the love of acting got me here. One thing I kept in my mind was that I stopped taking rejection personally. I was happy that I got a good opportunity with the Star Plus show and with What The Folks, where I played the lead.

You have been part of all three platforms; so, which satisfies you as an actor?

TV and movies would not be a fair comparison as I have not explored that platform. I did only one show and a movie. However, I have worked a lot on the web or digital space. Web really allows you to act and give that creative satisfaction too.

Web is growing at a fast pace. What are your thoughts on it?

Web is turning to be a great competition and I believe there is no lack of talent in Mumbai. I am extremely grateful to this medium. People are being more specific in terms of content. I also believe there is more money being put in; hence, quality content is being made by the makers. There is a plus point too that it is not censored.  What The Folks was my first series and it is really close to my heart.

Tell us about your upcoming project…

I am part of ALTBalaji’s The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family. It has been an amazing experience to work with such a great team. I am thankful to the team that they considered me good enough to be a part of the series.

How was your working experience with Barun?

I mostly had scenes with Barun. We became friends. I believe you cannot build chemistry between two characters when there is no chemistry between the actors. Barun is a great actor and he has proven it as he has been the lead in popular show. Even though we were actors from different backgrounds, our craft brought us together. We all dedicated actors had a common goal to work hard for the web-series.

What kind of person are you?

I am driven by my work. I was initially a serious person but have started having fun now. I used to be a designer. I was always inclined towards an artistic profession. I am an emotional and honest person.
