Namit Das talks about his experience shooting for Table No. 5.

Namit Das has been trying every different genre as possible in his last few outings. After playing the attractive dude in Viu India’s web-series Kaushiki, he is now seen in the role of an aspiring magician in Zee5’s web-series, Table No. 5.

Says Namit on this newest web experience, “This is a very different kind of role. Table No. 5 is all about six short stories, and I am part of one such. It was a short but very nice experience. It is a concept which is very quirky and not the typical one seen in today’s time. The story will keep viewers on the edge of their seats and that’s the beauty of it. Every tale has a twist which is different from the other.”

The series will have Namit Das locking horns with yet another popular actor Mohan Kapur. “I play an aspiring magician who looks up to another senior magician. It was great to reunite with Mohan Kapur; we have worked earlier for the TV show Sumit Sambhal Lega. It was great to catch up with him again on a personal level.”

On the concept of Table No. 5 and its writing, he states, “My take as an actor is that Table No. 5 is made to be impactful. Stories need to have a loving impact on the viewers’ minds and this is what it caters to. The digital medium needs to offer the quality which will not let audience move on to another medium. All the tales here have twists which are very different. It was great to have a work association with Writer Bhavesh Mandalia. He is a fabulous writer and I see that his efforts have paid off as the tales look really good.”

On his association with ZEE5, Namit avers, “It was just a one day affair for me to shoot this. But I would like to go back again and work with them. I like the content ZEE5 has in offer; they are different. Their shows have good content with good sensible writing. They have the knack and confidence to do something different on the internet space.”

Namit who is now busy shooting for his movie with Vishal Bharadwaj says that work on the digital space will take a back set for some time. “I am busy shooting for the movie. I would like to be careful about the kind of content I would next want to do.”

Best of luck, Namit!!
