Hoichoi, digital Bengali entertainment content platform, released the teaser video of Byomkesh, its much-awaited original web series. When the first episode premieres on Saturday, 14th October on Hoichoi, it will make history as the first Byomkesh series to be available on an OTT platform worldwide.
This, the coolest avatar of Byomkesh ever, has been produced by SVF, East India’s largest entertainment company, and has been directed by Sayantan Ghoshal.
Byomkesh Bakshi is one of the most celebrated Bengali fictional detective characters created by Saradindu Bandopadhyay. Set in the 1930s, the series is based on the adventures of Byomkesh and his friend and biographer Ajit, who usually accompanies Bakshi during his investigations.
Anirban Bhattacharya, recently seen in the critically-acclaimed film Dhananjoy, portrays the lead role of Byomkesh, with Subrat Dutta in the role of Byomkesh’s trusted friend-turned-aide, Ajit. Ridhima Ghosh plays Satyabati, Byomkesh’s wife.
Hoichoi takes the Satyanweshi’s adventures a notch higher with the ‘Byomkesh’ series, an amalgamation of six stories divided in three episodes, with the sleuth slipping into a much more hands-on avatar.
The first episode will be about two stories – Satyanweshi and Pother Kanta; and the second episode, which premiers on 21st October will have the following two stories – Makorshar Rosh and Arthamanartham.
