Mansi Srivastava has won hearts in quick time!! After gaining name and fame through her roles in shows Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se, Neeli Chatri Waale, Peterson Hill, Sasural Simar Ka, Mansi now enjoys limelight in the role of Bhavya in Star Plus and 4 Lions Films’ popular show, Ishqbaaaz.

In an exclusive conversation with IndianWikiMedia.com, Mansi shares insights on her journey, role, her preferences and future…

Excerpts:

How has the journey of Ishqbaaaz and Dil Boley Oberoi been for you?

So far so good!! The journey has been quite exciting, with lot of stunts and funny and amazing scenes. I love doing scenes with all of them and the production house is also very good.

How different was it to play the role of a cop?

Quite different as I have always played the bahu and bubbly kind of roles and I wanted to break that monotony. So when I got this opportunity, I thought this is a good way to prove my caliber in a different kind of role too. I love playing a cop. It’s challenging to play the strong roles, but all the hard work is worth it.

IB and DBO have been shows which are high on the style quotient. How does it feel to be part of such a show?

Oh yes, style of this show is definitely hatke; it feels great that there is a show where along with the script, story, characters and actors, they also pay very special attention to what actors are wearing and how the makeup in every scene looks like. That’s so amazing. No where else have I seen that the production house paying so much attention to the look of all the characters and in every scene. Credit goes to the designer Shivani and Iccha for that.  I think it’s a good looking show.

What have you liked the most in your styling and look?

I like that Bhavya is rough and tough. And the new look designed for me with denim jackets and long slit cut suit is damn cool. I love it, especially if it’s paired with bangles. My indo-western look is quite attractive.

How do you see this role of yours proceeding?

I see it progressing in a good way and I like the way they are moving ahead with our love track, where we are showing the age gap issue between us. This subject is quite real in lot of cases and people will relate to it.

How is it working with Leenesh Mattoo?

He is a superb actor and is sincere and dedicated too. We enjoy doing our scenes. He is fun loving too; so it’s quite good working with him.

You entered the show amidst a lot of controversy after Neha went out. How did you cope up with all the stress?

Yes, initially I was stressed about that issue. It was a very dicey situation playing someone’s love interest when already the couple was established in the show.  But then I thought let’s just leave it to God and I will deliver my best. So that’s what I am doing.

How has the audience accepted you opposite Leenesh?

I think they are liking our track now and our scenes too. So it’s a positive response. People have accepted our Jodi RuVya and I am happy about it.

The show is star-studded with lot of other popular actors. Are you happy with the screen space you get and exposure you get?

Everybody has a different story and the screen space is equally divided. I am happy with the way my track is progressing and the screen space I am getting.

With Surbhi and Shrenu, how is your offscreen rapport with them?

We gel up quite well and it’s fun to do scenes with them. When we hangout, it is great fun. We are a mad trio. We like to spend time together. Our friendship is quite good and I like the other people around too.

Recently Gul Khan talked to us about how negativity hits her and her shows. Are you affected by such negativity? How do you deal?

Yes, when you are giving your best and performing well and still get to face negativity, it is a bit frustrating. But we should not let it affect ourselves too much, because at the end of the day, you know what you are doing. You know how much hard work you put it in for a role. So I don’t let myself get affected so much. Infact some of the comments make me laugh.

What do you have to say about the over indulgence of fans on social media which reaches stages of aggressiveness at times.

At least this shows that lot of people are deeply involved in watching our show. I don’t mind their indulgence as far as it does not get really personal for some actor or producer. Situations   where fans start to abuse someone they don’t know and start writing wrong things about them even when they don’t know the exact reason behind it are not acceptable. It is all very uncool and unethical if it reaches such a stage.

Has this happened to you?

Well ya initially I used to get lot of notifications of people abusing and writing wrong things on my picture, but I have never felt the need to react on any negativity in the same way as they do. I would rather prove them all with my performance without reacting.

You have got all recognition possible with your shows. Which has been your best role so far?

Well there is still a lot of scope and acting that I can do in various other roles. So I would want more interesting roles to come my way in the future. As for my best role, I liked my role as Shivani in Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se and I love this role of Bhavya in Ishqbaaaz.

How do you see your career progressing from here?

Well I don’t plan anything. But I hope whatever happens, happens for the good. I believe in working hard and that the fruits will definitely come.

Your love life with Mohit Abrol has been going great. When are plans of marriage?

Both of us are busy with our respective shoots right now. So no planning right now. May be next year!

How do you both handle the pressure of work and take out your private time?

It’s difficult to take out time for friends and family when one is doing a daily. Everyday is damn hectic but still as family and friends are also my priority, I do give time to them and love catching up with them.

He’s doing Porus. Do you look forward to the launch of the show?

Yes I am excited to watch him in a totally different character and in the most awaited show. He has worked very hard for it.

Do you both aspire to work together in a show?

Yes of course!!

What is the kind of genre that fascinates and attracts you the most?

I like the intense stories; thriller formats also impress me, some thing like the Game of Thrones.

Are you comfortable in comedy or emoting?

Both!!

Do you want to try out in a different kind of genre?

I will want to do a role that is very intense and dark.

What about reality show?

I don’t mind Bigg Boss or any kind of dance show.

Your message to your fans.

I just want to give a virtual tight hug to all my fans; I am glad they all like my work and my posts. I will continue working hard for myself and for them. Work is what keeps me going (smiles).
