Jaya Prada is all set for her TV debut wherein she will play the role of Rajshri Rathore in &TV’s show titled Perfect Pati (Filmfarm India), with which she hopes to give a new dimension to the portrayal of mothers-in-law on small screen
“It will redefine the way a mother-in-law is usually portrayed on Indian television. My character Rajshri is a confident and dynamic woman who will be seen juggling between various responsibilities. I am glad that I am playing a progressive character in ‘Perfect Pati’ with which I begin a new chapter in my professional life. However, when my family learnt about it, they were shocked. They also questioned me that how will I manage the hectic shooting schedule. However, I made them understand that it might be difficult in the initial days but I had made up my mind. So I am here now. I am thankful to team &TV and my Producers (Pintoo Guha and Rupali Guha) for this opportunity. They have made me comfortable on sets.”
When asked about her definition of Perfect Pati, she adds, “Perfect Pati should be smart, tall and good natured. He should protect the girl he is marrying.”
On working with the young generation, she says, “It is good to work with the young generation as they are the future. The aura of the set is also very positive when we have young and energetic people around.”
On an ending note, Jaya who has worked with Late Sridevi spoke about her sudden demise: “I have worked with her in 12 to 13 movies. She was a good dancer, actor and mother. She used to love her kids. She is still there in our hearts. Industry will never forget her.”
