Madhurima Tuli talks about her upcoming project Colors’ Chandrakanta…

Elegant and stunning beauty Madhurima Tuli, who charmed audience as Tanu in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya and went on to impress viewers on big screen opposite Khiladi Akshay Kumar in Baby, will be seen in a powerful role of Chandrakanta in Balaji Telefilm’s recently launched Chandrakanta on Colors.

Talking about the excitement on her new venture, she shares with IndianWikiMedia, “I am very excited because I have always been a fan of the 90’s Chandrakanta. I am a bit nervous because there is a pressure about replacing the character of Shikha Swaroop. I still have her image as Chandrakanta in my mind but I am trying to avoid everything and give my best.”

Although Madhurima is playing a character which is iconic and played wonderfully by Shikha in the past, she wants audience to accept her in the new avatar.

“I have seen the DD National’s Chandrakanta but I am not taking any inspiration from Shikha’s character because I want to lend my flavour to it. I feel if I copy her then the audience won’t feel any connect with my part. Shikha as Chandrakanta is iconic and she has done a wonderful job but I am trying to do my bit to create a niche,” shares Madhurima.

When we ask the actress has she been following the ongoing Chandrakanta which is aired on Life OK, she avers, “I have seen a couple of episodes. It is a great show but different from ours. Kritika Kamra is a fantastic actress (lead of Life OK venture). She is trying to give her best and I am trying to give my best but it is totally up to the audience now how they connect to the story and every character. The storyline of the show is same but we are trying to take the magical route. I feel something is unique about our show which audience will definitely like and connect to it.”

Well, we have always seen fantasy shows opening with a certain air of magnanimity but falling flat conceptually owing to ratings concerns.  Will Chandrakanta too follow the same trajectory?  “TV is a medium that needs time for its shows to evolve. However, we try to give our best and showcase audience a beautiful visualisation of our story but sometimes time duration for storytelling is less. But I feel audience will connect with our show.”

Lastly, the young beauty misses being part of Kumkum Bhagya. “I do miss it but it was destined that I should be playing Tanu’s role Kumkum Bhagya for a limited time. I do feel bad about it because I was in love with my character,” ends the actress.

We wish Madhurima good luck for her new project!
