Veteran and vivacious Kanchan Gupta in a chat with IWMBuzz mentions her alacrity on being part of the show, Kya Haal Mr Paanchal on Star Bharat.
“I am blessed and glad to have gotten such a role which has varied layers. In my age, usually one doesn’t get good scripts, this is different. My part is funny and substantial,” she smiles.
Kanchan, further, states that although she is a saas (mother-in-law) in Kya Haal Mr Panchaal, yet, she is not a typical caricature usually seen on TV.
“In the show I am greedy, hence got five bahus (smiles). But in real life I am not greedy at all. I have one daughter and I only wish for a good life partner for her. My daughter is also my biggest critic who helps me grow in my career.”

Kanchan is overwhelmed by the audience response. “I am honoured and flattered with all the love and adulation coming my way. I am happy that the show is also garnering good numbers. Overall, it’s been a great experience and I share a great rapport with all on the set. In real life too everyone calls me ‘maiya’.”
Furthermore, Kanchan shares a special bond with her on screen son Kanhaiya (Maninder Singh) and she rates him as an ‘amazing actor’.
