Actor Saurish Singh Athwal, who rose to fame with Udaan and Baalveer, will be seen for the first time in an army officer’s role wherein he will be sharing the screen with Greek God Mohit Raina.
The actor will be portraying the role of Jeeva Singh, a soldier in Sikh regiment and a cook in Discovery JEET’s upcoming show 21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897 (Contiloe).
Saurish says, “It is a dream role for me. I never thought of playing an army officer. It is a privilege. I was excited to work with Mohit and the team. I am glad that I got an opportunity to be a part of this amazing series. My co-stars are really down to earth. We together have a lot of fun during our break time. Mohit and Mukul are really hardworking actors.”
Talking about the training, he shares, “We were trained for army activities. The team trained us to salute, work on our body language and regular exercises. It was a unique and tiring experience, but it is one of the best shows on Indian TV.”
He further adds, “After playing the character of an army officer, I can feel the real pain of our Indian soldiers. They leave everything and only think about India. Now, I can also understand what their families must be going through when one of the members goes out for war and there is no news about them. It is a very difficult life. We should respect and salute such great officers.”
“I am very excited about the show and very hopeful that it will be loved,” he ends.
