Actor Rudra Kaushish who essays the role of Mahendra Singh Gill in Star Plus’ popular show Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala (4 Lions Films and Invictus T Mediaworks) has been in the thick of things as per the plot, for being the only person to have got to know of Kullfi’s (Aakriti Sharma) real identity.
The loyal viewers of the show would know that Sikandar (Mohit Malik) would have sent him to the village to know more about his daughter who stays in the village. Upon going there, Mahendra got to know of the truth, but was in a dilemma whether to reveal the truth to Sikander or not.
Says Rudra, “My character has been going good. I enjoy being part of Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala. I have got really good scenes with Sikander, Kullfi, and my mother recently. My scenes have been written well and I have tried my best to perform to the best of my capabilities. As for the reaction of viewers, I really do not know whether they have liked my performance or not. But yes, I have been getting mails and messages of appreciation. An artist is always hungry for appreciation, and gets double the energy when appreciated. So this has actually happened with me.”
Being on the sets of Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala is like being in the company of your own family, as per Rudra. “Everyone from the spot to our Producers Gul Khan and Nilanjana Purkayasstha are so very good. It brings me great joy to work with my all my co-actors. When a show does really well, it is usually the outcome of good team work and same is the case with our show.”
In the story plot, Mahendra has decided to gulp down the truth of Kullfi being Sikander’s daughter. He has decided not to reveal it to Sikander. On this, Rudra says, “Yes, after the emotional talk with his mother, Mahendra has decided not to tell the truth to Sikander. Viewers need to see what happens next (smiles).”
