Vivek Dahiya speaks on his new show Qayamat Ki Raat

Social media trollers don’t deserve my reply: Vivek Dahiya

There are actors and there are nuanced finessed intelligent performers. The second mention fits Vivek Dahiya, fit and fabulous. Having already proved his mettle as an actor in popular shows Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Kavach…Kaali Shaktiyon Se, Vivek now intends to win hearts of audiences via his scary project, Qayamat Ki Raat on Star Plus.

We caught up with him at launch of the press conference and entered into a candid chat. Excerpts:

Why did you choose this show?

The powerful storyline with the twist of a love angle attracted me to the show. I think the story is very strong. There is a lot of hard work put into it. Star Plus is getting something amazing on the platter so I am sure audience will love it. And also, I have worked with Balaji and Star Plus before. It has been an amazing experience. There was no reason to say no to the project. I feel responsible towards the production house too. I consider myself as the Balaji baby as I started my career with them. I have grown with them.

What was Divyanka’s (spouse) reaction when she saw the promo for the first time?

Divyanka was shocked and surprised when she saw the promo. She found it very edgy and creepy and said that this will definitely scare audience.

Why did you choose supernatural thriller genre again after being a part of Kavach?

The guy from Kavach was a serious husband. He was a male chauvinist. However, here Raj is a very relatable character. He is a fun loving boy.

Do you believe in supernatural powers?

I believe there is positive and negative energy. I don’t believe in ghosts. I don’t like to enter a house which is full of negativity. However, you can’t describe negativity but the vibes can be felt.

Have you experienced any?

I went to a forest in the night with my friends. I wanted to play a spooky prank on them but it backfired on me. In the rare view mirror, I saw somebody running behind the car. It just freaked me out.

How do you take criticism when people constantly troll on social media?

They don’t deserve my reply. They are juvenile and childish. It is absolutely untrue that I don’t share pics with Divyanka. I do, as much as I want to. There is no compulsion. We are secure as partners and our marriage is not based on Instagram or Facebook posts. Our relationship doesn’t get influenced by what people say.

Are you comfortable working with Divyanka on-screen?

I am comfortable working with her. Audience wants us to see together but it depends on what is the concept and who is making it. If we are coming on-screen together then there should be something amazing and it should be worth it.

Are you comfortable kissing on-screen?

If there is demand of the scene then I am fine. I believe we have to move with time. And intimacy is becoming a regular thing on-screen. If I say no, then I am not growing and putting restricting myself as an actor.

Final words for your fans….

Keep loving and supporting us. We promise to deliver our best and entertain you all.
