Srishty Rode of-Ek Nayi Umeed fame will soon be back after a break.  There are reports that she will associate herself with a project which also boasts of big names like Rubina Dilaik, Abhinav Shukla among others. “You will have to wait for a few more days for the details.  There is also a telefilm which will hit the airwaves soon.”

Srishty, who has been around since 2010, claims to have had a satisfying journey. “Beginning with a youth show Yeh Ishq Haaye then doing the historical Shobha Somnath Ki, I have also played a housewife in Punar Vivah and last but not the least have also tried the comic genre in Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi. I wanted to try my hand at south film and also wanted to travel. I also did a TVC now, I am back to my favourite hunting ground.”

Going on she says, “TV actors don’t really get stuff which merit their caliber, they are mostly typecast. Luckily, good work is happening on the tube and I would want to try out genres what I have not done before. I can do as much varied stuff.”

She does not think working with big names like Rubina will deprive her of screen space, “No, we are both good friends (worked in together in Choti Bahu2 and Punar Vivah) and have our own respective spheres.  I have survived so long only on the basis of hard work.”

Srishty does not really believe in numbers game. “Many actors who get catapulted into the A list courtesy long running shows don’t get creative satisfaction. Have we not heard cases where people crib that why such don’t shows shut down?  In my case even if the show has not worked or I have had short role, my work has always been appreciated.”

“I want to be known as a good actor rather than someone who posts bikini pics to change image,” she ends.

We wish her luck.
