Talented and smart actor Sahil Mehta, who rose to fame with Suhani Si Ek Ladki and currently winning hearts as Sameer in Colors’ Shakti – Astitva Ek Ehsaas Ki (Rashmi Sharma Productions), will soon make an exit from the series.

Sahil’s character will end in the show and the drama will see a new turn in the story line.

Talking about the same, he says, “I had a lot of fun playing the interesting character. It was a very light headed and fun one. I was playing a very normal and realistic role which broke a lot of stereotypes of an angry young man hero.”

Sahil feels picking up a cameo appearance was a big step but not a risk. “After doing a show like Suhani as a lead, a cameo appearance was a huge step but not a risk at all. I accepted it happily as Shakti was a big show and there are huge names attached to it. I also feel when you take such a character, you are the centre of attraction and never sidelined like other characters. The story revolves around your role,” shares the actor.

Sharing about his bond with Rubina and Vivian, he adds, “It took 5-10 mins to gel up with Rubina. She is an amazing person. She was irritated the most by me but she told me that she would miss my goofiness. Vivian is a born star. He is a chilled out person.”

When asked what kind of characters he looked forward to play in future, he avers, “I wish I could play Sameer for a longer period of time. Birlas, Oberois, Kapoors are larger than life characters and there is no relatability factor. Whereas characters like Sameer, which are simple, not in suit 24/7 are strong and real characters and audience connect to them easily.”

Well said, Sahil!
