IndianWikiMedia was the first to report on production house Writers Galaxy working on a new show for Star Network (most probably for Star Bharat) which will be based on Adi Guru Shankaracharya. The show will depict his early life and entire journey as Indian philosopher.

Now coming to the cast, the show has Maine Pyar Kiya fame Bhagyashree, Rajit Kapur (Byomkesh Bakshi fame), Chak De India actress Vidya Malavade and Amit Khanna (Yeh Dil Chahe More) in prominent roles.

As per a reliable source, “Bhagyashree will play Shankaracharya’s mother, Rajit Kapur will be Kumarila Bhatta, Amit Khanna will portray Maṇḍana Miśra and Vidya Malvade will enact the role of Ubhaya Bharati.”

Now we have learnt that the pivotal role of Adi Guru Shankaracharya will be enacted by child artist Kalp Patwa. After initial plot progression, Adi will grow up bringing in transition.

Kapl has been part of shows like Jamai Raja, Mahakumbh and Badi Doooor Se Aye Hai.

The show is expected to launch in January next year and currently is in the pre production stage. They will be shooting the series as a movie on a large scale.

Kalp remained unavailable for a comment.

We buzzed producer Aniruddh and the channel spokesperson, but did not get any revert till the time of filing the article.
