Ever since its launch last month, Zee TV’s ‘Woh … Apna Sa’ has connected with audiences, questioning prevalent mindsets and pre-conceived notions about marriage, love and the eternal quest of finding one’s true soulmate. The show takes a look at how some relations don’t go the way you expect them to while a few others, ones that you probably don’t expect, go on to make a huge positive difference in our lives. Produced by Siddharth Malhotra’s Alchemy Films, ‘Woh … Apna Sa’ asks “Who is your true soulmate?”. The latest on the show is that actress Ushma Rathod, has stepped into the role of Kaki ma earlier played by Shalini Arora. Shalini, who won millions of hearts with her marvellous performance as Kaki ma, has quit the show following date issues. The show, which continues to entertain viewers with its gripping story line, is about to see more excitement in the coming weeks!
Ushma says, “I’m excited to play the character of Kaki ma who is a simple, family-oriented woman. The character is very different from my past roles and something that I haven’t explored earlier. As an actor, I love playing roles that are as diverse as possible and when I got an opportunity to play such a prominent character, I had no option but to say yes.” She further adds, “Its like a homecoming to be on the sets of Woh…Apna Sa, as it’s the same set where my earlier show was shot. I’m working really hard to get the body language, the demeanor and tone right. Shalini has certainly made a mark and won appreciation for the role and I will try my best to slip into her shoes seamlessly and play the character convincingly. It’s a challenging role and I’m certain that fans will love my new avatar”.
In the upcoming episodes of Woh…Apna Sa, Aditya puts a camera in the room to spy on Nisha. On the other hand, Jhanvi has decorated Aditya’s cabin. Aditya is speechless on seeing all the old pictures of him in his cabin as it brings back a lot of painful memories. He gets really furious and fires Jhanvi. Shivratri preparations are in full swing; Jhanvi goes back to the office to collect her stuff. Aditya, who took the decision in anger, goes to Jhanvi’s house to apologize and asks her to return to the company. Will Jhanvi forgive Aditya for his ruthless behavior and resume work? Only time will tell…
