Zee TV’s popular show Zindagi Ki Mehak will end on a high very soon, and in an exclusive talk to IWMBuzz.com, Producer Saurabh Tewari talks about the main reason for its closure.

Our lead actors were not ready for a long-term commitment: Producer Saurabh Tewari on the closure of Zindagi Ki Mehak

Saurabh Tewari’s Parin Multimedia has had a fruitful journey with Zindagi Ki Mehak on Zee TV. With the show all set to wrap up in few days, we at IWMBuzz.com got to talk to Producer Saurabh Tewari on the show’s successful stint.

Says Saurabh, “It has been a tough journey, as the show was based out in Delhi. It gets very difficult to pull off a show shot outside Mumbai after a point of time. We have managed to successfully do it for nearly 2 years now. I don’t think any other Producer has been able to do it for such a long time. So Zindagi Ki Mehak has been a successful brand for the channel.”

Mehak even now rates between 1.3 and 1.4 and could have easily surged ahead, considering that the reincarnation leap has just happened. “Well, our lead actors Karan Vohra and Samiksha Jaiswal were getting jittery. They did not want to continue with the show after a point. We had it in written from them, where they were clear that they were not ready to give the show any long term commitment. So we were left with no option literally,” confides the Producer to IWMBuzz.com.

“As you said, the show is doing quite well even now and we hover around the 1.3 and 1.4 mark which is not bad at all in today’s scenario. However, the channel and production teams sat down to discuss the future of Mehak. When we had to anyway shut it down post November, the thought was why not shut it down? The track we are in at the moment is coming to a logical end, and it was wise to shut the show now. If we went on to start another new track, it would be very illogical to shut it midway in November. And we need to understand that the channel has its strategy and when it had a new show ready for launch, they had to go for it. We are happy that we are shutting it on a high. Mehak has and will always remain one of my favourite shows. It has been a satisfying journey as Producer. We opened with a TVR of 1.1 in 2016. And God willing, we will be ending it somewhere between TRP of 1.4 to 1.5. We are very happy. Overall, every good thing comes to an end, is what I can say.”

We will miss you, Mehak!!
