We often hear about actress getting body shamed and facing nasty comments on the way they look or dress up. Actress, Ridheema Tiwari who is seen essaying the role of attractive seductress Maldawali in Life OK’s show Ghulaam has lately become the target of trolls.

Ridheema, was trolled for showing off her cleavage and navel on the show. While Ridheema chose to remain silent initially, her patience reached a saturation point when the trolls posted nasty comments about her parents. Thereafter, she posted several videos on Instagram, commenting on the “sick mentality” of some Indian men.

When asked Ridheema about it, she said, “I understand that I play a seductress and it’s bound to attract male attention. People call me attractive and compliment my curves, my navel… I understand that, but when you think of me as a s*x object, I object. Some men just can’t get over words like ‘cleavage’, ‘breasts’, `panty’ and `condom’… they never grow up. They are obsessed with these words and keep People should not mix reel with real.”

The actress further says, “They should understand that for an actress to do bold roles is difficult and if you can’t compliment her, at least don’t objectify her posting nasty comments and jokes related to them. We actresses choose to ignore it most of the times, but this time around, when they commented on my family, I was really hurt. People should not mix reel with real. They should understand that for an actress to do bold roles is difficult and if you can’t compliment her, at least don’t objectify her. Earlier, before the advent of social media, I have faced men on the streets who misbehaved with women; I have even thrown stones at them.”

Ridheema also feels that an actor’s private life goes for a toss when they are a public figure and admits that there are times when fans cross their lines.

“Fans forget the line they need to draw. Most of the times they mix reel with real. We actors yearn for privacy. Fans are very inquisitive they often ask weird questions about the show. If we don’t answer they abuse us. Some gap is good. A healthy distance must be maintain and they should respect us.”

More power to you Ridheema for being so strong headed!
