Dilnaz Irani to be part of new bold women-oriented web series

Well-known theatre and web artist Dilnaz Irani will soon start shooting as the lead for a new women-themed web series involving three main characters.

“Bold series Happily Ever After, directed by Bangalore-based documentary filmmaker, Aditi Banerjee, tries to deep dive into the real issues facing the fairer sex.”

“There have been many female-dominated web products before, but most of them focus only on good-looking ladies wearing designer threads. But what about the real women? It is quite sad that everyone talks only about either the fat girl or the beauty. But what about the millions of females who fall in between? Also, why is it that a strong woman can’t cry?”

“Since Aditi does not want to compromise on the script, she prefers to make it and then pitch it to various platforms rather than preselling it, which will then take away the control from her,” added Dilnaz, who has also acted in films like Jodha Akbar and Aligarh.

“We go on the floor some time in September. Right now she is in prep stage. I really liked her narration and enthusiasm, so said yes. I am hopeful that the premiere season will do well, so we can have sequels as well.”

Dilnaz, who has been doing stage for over a decade, first came on the digital scene with Nakuul Mehta’s small screen satire, I Don’t Watch TV, where she played the character of a troublesome Madam.

This was followed by a mother role in Ragini MMS. “Then I played a hard-nosed cop in Vikram Bhatt’s Twisted 2. Last but not the least, I have one more TVF web series called Cheesecakes, which should come out soon.”

Besides web, Dilnaz is also doing a new comedy play titled The Devil Wears Bata, directed by Meherzad Patel.
