National School of Drama artist Sunita Rajwar has excelled on the big screen in varied roles in movies Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon, Buddha Mar Gaya, Kedarnath, Stree etc and is now seen in web-series Gullak.

On TV, she has mostly been seen in negative avatars and has done shows Shagun, Jab Love Hua, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ramayan, Hitler Didi, Perfect Pati etc.

Sunita is now seen in the presently streaming SonyLIV series created by TVF.

The Gullak that is present in the main family of the Mishras tells us tales of their simplicity, joys and sorrows.

Sunita Rajwar who essays the interesting role of Bittu ki Mummy has had an exciting time shooting for the series.

Says Sunita, “It was wonderful shooting for Gullak in Bhopal. It was amazing shooting with Geetanjali Kulkarni; she is my one year senior in NSD and I know her very well. Jameel Khan is also a theater friend. The workshop that we had was amazing. We used to be given the situations and we used to have the workshop. It was fun doing this. And when we shot for the series in Bhopal, those were the memories and moments that we will cherish forever.”

Sunita who is mostly known for her negative roles is happy to have got a really good response for her funny role here. “When we used to shoot for my scenes, everyone used to laugh and laugh. All of this began on the first day, when we shot for the terrace scene. At the end of the scene, there is a funny manner in which I call her Anuuuuu. This scene of mine was praised by one and all. And this scene was the one which everyone on the set used to copy and emulate. We used to have a hearty laugh and all made me call Anu in the same manner always.”

“All of us gelled really well as one family. We are still in touch with each other. This series was shot a long time back, and is streaming a bit late. So imagine, we are even now in touch with each other,” she adds.

Sunita is a carefree person in real life. “I have done negative roles, but have had my share of comic roles too. For me doing comedy and negative roles are very easy. In real life, I am very funny. I am blunt, but lot more funny. I can laugh on myself too. I don’t take things seriously. So I enjoyed doing this role.”

Talking about the character in Gullak, Sunita avers, “Bittu Ki Mummy is not a negative character at all. She is rather funny and stupid. She does not do anything intentionally. But when she speaks, she ends up hurting others. She does not understand what she is saying, and does not understand even when the other person gives her a jab. She is very innocent but not harmful. I enjoy doing roles that are soaked in stupidity.”

Sunita is also working on few films and looks forward to more of work on the web space.

Best of luck, Sunita!!
