Parul Gulati who is presently seen in Girliyapa’s series, Girls Hostel talks about her character and concept of the series.

Talented actress Parul Gulati is playing the quintessential college queen with elan in TVF Girliyapa’s now-streaming series, Girls Hostel, directed by Chaitanya Kumbhakonum. The series has Ahsaas Channa, Srishti Srivastava and Simran Natekar playing central roles along with Parul.

Parul who was seen in a very different role in ALTBalaji’s series Haq Se, is happy to have been part of this series, and gone through the experiences of living life in a girls hostel.

Revolving around the group of girls studying in St. John’s Dental College and the hostel they stay in, the series takes us through the lives of these girls, their coming together and the ups and down they face amidst realistic situations.

Says Parul, “I have never done anything for the Youtube ever. And to have views as huge as 6.7 million in just 5 days for a web-series is crazy!! It was a huge feeling. My numbers on Instagram have gone up instantly. So I know it is working. It has been a great experience.”

On her character, she states, “Zahira Ali is a senior dental student. She’s not the usual mean girl, but can come across as the smart one who can bully people. Our story is set up amidst very different situations that the girls face. They are not seen doing all the pink things and always talking about boys. The dynamics here are very different. We are women who have real problems in real situations. Zahira Ali is sassy, high-fashion girl who comes across as one who does not talk to anyone. But she has her own group of friends. She is no longer a friend of Jo, played by Srishti Srivastava as you must have seen.”

On the concept, she states, “The series deals with different kind of relationships that girls share in a girls’ hostel. It will traverse the ups and downs that they get into. I am looking forward to more of reactions pouring in with the next episodes that will get streamed. Shooting for the show has been fun and we girls share a great rapport off the screen.”

Way to go, Parul!!
