Ahmedabad born singer Aishwarya Majmudar, who is now settled in Mumbai for the last eight years, hails from a musical background. She gained popularity after winning the musical reality show Star Voice of India – Chhote Ustad at the age of 15.
Aishwarya was three when she was trained at home and at the age of five, she started her professional training. She recorded her first Gujarati song at the age of seven for the movie ‘Ghar Maru Mandir’ and has participated in many talent competitions.
Her grandparents and parents are graduates in music but none of them have taken up music as a career. After winning the music reality show, she has devoted herself to music.
She says, “After winning the title, my life has taken a complete 360 degree turn. It has been a fun experience. I was young and people had a lot of expectation so it was my responsibility to live up to it. I am glad that I managed to win it with the support of everyone. At that young age, I must have imagined my life to be the way I am living now. So I am in a happy phase.”
So who do you idolize in your field? “Frankly, there are a lot of people. Especially, my parents, although, they have nothing to do with music but the way they drive me and are passionate about my music is what inspire me. They are my inspiration,” shares the young lass.
When we ask how YouTube helps in connecting with a global audience, she avers, “I think YouTube is the new TV. Everything is available at your convenience. It’s in your control so you can watch anything that you want to. Any social media platform helps you connect with the global audience. There is no censorship too which gives desired freedom. YouTube also helps you earn money and help you become a successful human being.”
Aishwarya feels that now-a-days there is no originality in music. “I feel music has become like a ball and it is just getting transferred from one court to another. l mean to say that there is one song and it is recreated again. Hence, there is no originality. So I would love to sing for those people who believe in originality of music or a song and also who are passionate and love, respect music the way I do.”
On an end note, she wants to tell her fans to be happy and live life to the fullest.
