The dashing Karanvir Sharma, who had made heads turn with his performances in the film Azhar, and the recent Alt Balaji web series, Haq Se, will focus on the big screen this year.

“I have two action releases this year- first is with Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia’s nephew, Karan Kapadia. Then there is a Tony D’Souza produced (he had directed Azhar) flick. There is one more multi-starrer on the anvil. It is very positive to note that finally, Hindi films have come of age, lest audiences stay away from theaters.” He had earlier done Zid and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, which hit the theaters last year.

Ask about his web series journey, and this 36 year old, who was born in Pakistan, says, “Girl in the City was fun. We always knew that it was a small project, but it was this very design that ensured its success in the first place.”

“Haq, on the other hand, was shot on a film scale, taking up a lot of my time. The chemistry and camaraderie were good, for all were great actors (Pavil Gulati, Surveen Chawla and Rajeev Khandelwal) to boot.”

He will also be part of India’s biggest web series, “But I can’t talk about it yet; the makers will do the relevant announcements in due course of time. I am listening to a few more web scripts, but after having done quite good work till now, will only say yes to stuff which really ups my game.”

“With Haq se becoming a hit, it will also return. I am also in touch with Viikram Bhatt for something interesting as well, so there’s lots to look forward to.”

Besides films and web, Karanvir would like to play around with TV as well. “Previously, I had done Anil Kapoor’s 24, on Colors, but it was not your regular TV staple. My biggest issue with TV is that you don’t give male actors their due. Also, the entire shooting and creative process is not streamlined. For me, the character is very important; it should be engaging enough to hold my attention. Being a very boring person in real life, doing edgy characters always gives me a high.”
