Actor Arjun Rampal is basking in the glory of the success of his Dhurandhar franchise. Amid that, in a recent interview, the actor recalled the darkest phase of his life, from losing a close one to his divorce from ex-wife Mehr Jesia, which led him to true introspection. However, he majorly credited his current wife Gabriella Demetriades for helping him overcome the difficult phase.
While chatting with Sohini on Cancelled to Crown, Arjun confessed about his darkest phase emphasizing he felt the loneliest when he wasn’t able to connect with himself. Mentioning the darkest phase of his life, Arjun shared that time his marriage was not working, which was a sad part, but along with that his mother was not well. From his wife to mother and friends, everyone was going far from him, which seemed like the world around him was collapsing, and everything was falling apart.
Arjun called that phase personally very challenging for him as he faced many losses, and that forced him into true introspection. He shared how introspection is important to acknowledge one’s own mistakes to become a better version of ourselves by looking at what one did wrong in the past.
However, Arjun revealed that his wife, Gabriella Demetriades, turned out to be his big support during the difficult phase with divorce and losing his mother just after three years, when he lost his father.
Arjun said, “I was very lucky because I got somebody like Gabriella into my life who I think was a very strong anchor and was also coming from a space of maybe a lot of darkness as well.”
He further added, “So we both were in the storm and we had to, like I said, weather it. But it’s good, we got to weather it together, and then the blessings came.”
Arjun called the phase when his first son Arik was born a blessing: “When the sun rose again, even though my mom passed, I got Arik. And that was great joy, was a blessing.”
Arjun credited Gabriella for coming out of the difficult phase with ease, with her by his side.
