Popular Bollywood star Ajay Devgn’s next sports flick ‘Maidaan’ is in the making.

Maidaan is a film about football coach Syed Abdul Rahim who was responsible for India winning the gold medal in the Jakarta Asian Games in 1963. He also helped India reach the semi-finals in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

The film has been produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Roy Sengupta with Zee Studios as presenters. It is being directed by Amit Ravindranath Sharma, who’s also directed the superhit ‘Badhaai Ho’ and ‘Tevar’. Ajay, who is playing the role of legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim in the film, will be sharing screen space with Southern actress Keerthy Suresh for the first time in the film.

The film also stars Boman Irani and Gajraj Rao. Other actors include football players who are undergoing training for the film.

Now, IWMBuzz.com has exclusive information about actors Chaitanya Sharma (Gully Boy), Indian footballer Manandeep Singh and Tejas Ravishankar (Naina Barse Kyun) joining the cast. The actors will be part of the football team.
