Bhardwaj made his music composing debut with the children’s film Abhay in 1995. He received worldwide recognition for composing for Gulzar’s ‘Maachish’. In an interview, the director cum composer confesses that he is often undervalued as a music composer and he wants to compose for films that aren’t his. He recently won in the Best Music Director category in Kerela State Film Awards for the Malayalam film Carbon. Songs like ‘Baaghi re’ and ‘Rua Rua’ are also composed by him. Vishal Bhardwaj is truly a music director we need to hear more of.
