Young and talented Zaan Khan is a versatile actor. The young lad, who portrayed the character of Jeevan in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and currently enthralls as Bollywood star Karan Kapoor in Star Plus’ Naamkarann, showed audience his acting skills.
He says decoding his character in his current show was tough for him.
“I had a hard time decoding and understanding the character. I took 10 days time to get into the skin of the role. I am a very simple person in real life, but here I had to portray a real superstar. Now, I am so involved in the character that sometimes my friends feel I am not Zaan but Karan. I am working with a beautiful team. Challenges are coming and I am enjoying it,” said Zaan.
When asked what made him choose the role? He answered, “The reason I picked up this show was the character. I felt this was something that I have not explored as an actor. Playing a superstar is a different experience. Also the show was already established and also the two characters Neil and Avni are so very popular. They have a huge fandom, so making a mark in the audiences’ heart was difficult for me. However, I am happy that my character is being loved by the viewers.”
Sharing about the best compliment he received from his fans, he added, “The best compliment that I received from my fans was that they feel I am not copying any superstar. I was not being another Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan or Ranbir Kapoor. I am creating a new star Karan and living the role by adding my bit to it.”
