Khushwant Walia is known to be a method actor in the television industry. He performs his roles with utmost perfection. Being a true gentleman off screen, he enjoys enviable fan following which saw a definite spike with his enigmatic performance in Sasural Simar Ka.

Attractive looks, dialogue timing, perfect acting, etc. this guy has it all to make it big among the best. Starting his career as an assistant director in the Bollywood movie Bodyguard, he has surely come a long way in the industry. He is extremely hard working, smart and shares a good bond with all his colleagues.

Talking about his experience as an assistant director and what made him take such a big leap he replies, “I took the job of an assistant director to understand how an actor works. The framing and use of light helps you understand how an actor should move on the set.”

Khushwant maintains that the experience helped him understand the elements better.

Khushwant has acted as an antagonist as well as a protagonist in TV serials and nearly mastered them all.  We ask him about what roles will be challenging for him in future. “Every role is challenging in its own perspective. But answering in an overall context I would say that parts in any historical or mythological TV serial would be more challenging as I am yet to explore the genre.”

Moving away from television, Khushwant further shares his thoughts on the burgeoning digital content space: He quips, “I love web content and I personally follow AIB and TVF but television itself is a big format and has its separate audience. So I don’t think that anyone is eating up anyone’s audience. Having said that, I would love to experience the domain which allows you more freedom and creativity. There is a chill and sarcastic type of comedy there which is viewable in any kind of mood.”

On a closing note the thespian says that he would love to play the role of Ranbir Kapoor from Rockstar.

“That’s my dream role.”

We wish you more success, Khushwant.
