I might get shy while shooting lovemaking scenes but will overcome it - Shivin Narang

Shivin Narang is on a break after his last Colors show, Internet Wala Love, wrapped up last month. “It was a short fun journey. At first, we expected it to last for around 8-9 months, but it eventually wrapped up in six. But no regrets, as I got a chance to play today’s net yuppie.”

Looking ahead, Shivin would next want to play an out and out action or fantasy character, as that is something he’s not yet tried out. His notable TV shows have been Suvreen Guggal – Topper of The Year and Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera.

When asked if he would be game for playing a male Dayan or chudail, he says, “Why not, for we Indians have been brought up on such folk tales. Dracula or zombies are not our staple diet.”

“For me, more than the type of genre, what is really important is honesty of approach. If you are not true to your story, things start going awry. Have we not seen plots going off at a tangent in a month? In such situations, it really gets difficult as an actor to stay focused,” says Shivin, who has done several ads and a music video with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Apart from TV, Shivin is also looking at web pastures. He has no issues going bold. “Let’s face it, s*x sells. Having said that, the important point is that you should also have a feel-good story and great characterization. Just filling your narrative with making out scenes is not my cup of tea.”

“I was really impressed with Fifty Shades Of Grey, which too had a lot of explicit content, but most importantly, did not seem cheap,” adds Shivin.

When asked how comfortable will he be shooting lovemaking sequences, as some male TV actors get cagey, he replies, “To be honest, a lot of this stuff is quite technical. And we have shot a lot of romantic scenes (not that explicit, as it was presented on TV). Yes, as humans, we actors do get shy doing some stuff, but then we have to overcome it as it is our job.”
