The beautiful and ultra-talented Preetika Rao is all set to usher in her birthday which falls today.

“Like every year, I will celebrate with my cousins. We will gorge on cakes and sweets (one day off diet is good). I am hopeful of pleasing my fans by doing some creative, interesting work this year in both, the musical(she has sung cover versions) and acting fields. Although my fans want to see me in a long-running series, personally, I prefer limited shows, which have lots of meat. I would also like to go beyond drama, and try out other genres like horror and naagin spectacles, which I have kept away as well. An artist should try out everything, ”says this sister of Amrita Rao, who found her calling with Beintehaa. She has done a couple of flicks down south as well.

“Like most of my previous birthdays, I will work tomorrow as well. It is important to work on your birthday, as it augurs well for the coming year.”

So, what did you learn from the past year? “Apart from making a large number of friends, I have also learnt the importance of time management. Normally, being freelancers, we work at our own pace. But now I have decided to up my game.”

Here Preetika, last seen in the Star Plus show, Love Ka Hai Intezaar, wishes to thank her national and international (Pakistan, US and Indonesia) fans, who take great pains every year to send her personalized gifts for her birthday. This year, Ked, from Thailand, sent me a painting of me. I look more beautiful in it than in real life. Then, I received a book full of my sketches, and most of them looked just like me. One more breath-taking gift was a box full of roses.”

“I wish to thank all who those have sent me gifts from the bottom of my heart. It feels nice that they continue to keep in touch. Today, thanks to social media, it is easier for us celebs to stay in touch with our fans. I wonder how yesteryear celebs would deal with the huge amount of fan mail. It must have been tough to reply individually to each letter.”
