Karan Suchak talks about transforming into a female on-screen.

The role of Ganga Massi was a real test for me, but gradually I felt confident about it: Karan Suchak

Indian television has witnessed a lot of role reversals on-screen. Audience has witnessed male actors donning the feminine avatar and ruling the screen.

Now, talented actor Karan Suchak, who plays the role of Akhilesh Pandey in &TV’s Meri Hanikarak Biwi (Full House Media), has joined the bandwagon.

In the coming drama, Karan will step aside from his regular attire of vibrant kurta-jeans and put up another notable performance with his new avatar as ‘Ganga Massi’. Upon discovering the various dangers looming over Ira and her family, Akhilesh will once again enter Ira’s life seeking for a job as a house helper in an attempt to keep a watch over her and do everything possible to keep Ira safe. Saving her from a threat to her life while standing by her side as her friend, Ganga Massi will also make Ira realize her true feelings for Akhilesh. Meanwhile, he also finds out Ira’s father, Vallabh is smitten by his new appearance as Ganga Massi.

Talking about playing a woman, Karan Suchak said, “I have never played a woman on television but when I heard the sequence, the first thing that struck my mind was the look of Kamal Haasan from Chachi 420. If an actor like him can pull it off so well, then why not take it up, test myself and surprise my fans. My transformation as Ganga Massi went through a rigorous procedure of deciding her style, look and dressing sense. At the end of the make-over, I was dressed in a light pink saree and mid-length hair and for once I couldn’t believe it was me. The role was a real test for me, but gradually I felt confident about it and I hope the audience are equally excited to see me in a lady avatar.”
