Rohitashv Gour of hit &TV sitcom, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! accepts that the absence of Saumya Tandon, due to child-birth, had affected the basic story of 2 married men desiring their neighbour’s wives.

“With Anitaji not in Kanpur, my character’s romantic ideas came to a standstill. But this was expected; however, with Saumya set to resume shooting very shortly, things will be back on an even keel.”

“In a bid to hold fort, we had to change strategy and one of them was the usage of the current horror comedy track. Having said that, there was great audience clamor for the same on our social media feeds as well. Doing the same old wooing the forbidden fruit over and over again also has a fatigue element attached to it. But yes, we have not deviated from our core comedy premise.”

“In fact, we had played with the supernatural angle long back during Shilpa Shinde’s (old Angoori) stint as well, which was very well received back then. A few months back we returned with the naagin series, and now we have the ongoing horror track where a ghost takes possession of Bhabutiji’s (Aasif Sheikh) body in a bid to get Angoori (Shubhangi Atre Poorey). We use the white lenses and very funny dialogues to craft the funny horror element.”

Here Rohitashv, who has done several hit TV shows before, such as Lapataganj – Sharad Joshi Ki Kahaniyon Ka Pata, Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein, etc., accepts that after playing Tiwariji for four long years, sometimes boredom does creep in, “Especially when the scripts are not written by the main writer, Manoj Santoshi. Full marks to the core creative team for repeatedly coming up with funny situations day in and day out. We actors don’t have much of an issue, having got the hang of the characters, so know what to do.”

When asked as to what his fans tell him, he says, “Many of them want me to don different disguises as Bhabutiji does, and turn the tables on him. I have spoken to the creative team about the same and they have assured me that they will work on it once Anita is back. This makes sense as such stunts need to be directed towards wooing the latter.”

“Till then my fans should be happy with the fact that Tiwariji is a successful undergarments businessman, while his beta noire has got nothing else to show for himself,” he ends.
