Karanvir Sharma who essays the lead role of Arjun in SAB TV’s Mangalam Dangalam talks about his role and show.

Talented actor Karanvir Sharma is giving his best in his debut work on TV, Mangalam Dangalam – Kabhi Pyaar Kabhi Vaar on SAB TV.

In the show produced by Ashvini Yardi’s Viniyard Films, Karanvir essays the role of the good-looking bachelor Arjun, who is a South Indian based in Indore.

Karanvir who has tasted success on the big screen and web mediums has always had the inclination of working on the genre of comedy. And this made him accept this role.

Says Karanvir, “I have always wanted to do comedy. I distinctly remember that when I was training under Mr. Anupam Kher in his acting academy, one of the qualities I had was my comic timing. However, I never really go to do something around it. That was when I started to feel that I was getting the same kind of roles. While I played a cop in 24, I played a documentarian in Haq Se. In The Girl in the City, I played a business tycoon. But most of my roles have always been the serious ones. Hence when I was offered this chance to play comedy, I felt it to be refreshing. Above all, TV is a huge medium in itself. It feels good to be part of it.”

Talking about his character, Karanvir shares, “The best part about Arjun is that he is a jamaai, so the story will be concentrating on the father-in-law and son-in-law. The cat and mouse game between them will be interesting to watch. And he is not a stereotypical South Indian character. He always speaks his heart out; he is very intelligent. He is a doting son. All these qualities in him are really captivating for the audience. The fun thing is that he is very real, at the same time he does not take nonsense from anyone.”

The love story between the free-spirited Rumi (Manisha Rawat) and Arjun will be fast-paced and viewers will get to see it soon. “The love story has to come soon. We will be trying to concentrate on the sasur and jamaai, so that angle has to be established soon.”

Karanvir’s rapport off the screen with thespian actor Manoj Joshi is a complete opposite to how it is onscreen. “I look forward to working with him on the set. He is a refreshing person to be with. He has lots of experience and is a film person. Our ideologies are always to try to make the scene better. We have connected very well and in quick time.”

Karanvir is presently juggling between his SAB TV show and his upcoming film, Blank which will release soon.

Ask him how he manages it and he is quick to say, “I have been sleeping less, and working more and staying committed. It is not easy at all considering that there are no breaks on TV like we have for films. But yes, I am handling the responsibility well.”

Way to go, Karanvir!!
