Pavitra Punia who essays the hot-looking daayan in the &TV show gets to talk about her role and the reign of supernatural sagas on TV.

The sizzling Pavitra Punia is enjoying playing the title character in And TV show, Daayan.

“It always feels nice when you appear glamorous on screen. Producer Ekta Kapoor started this hot-looking supernatural phenomenon with Naagin. Soon other makers followed and once scary-looking witches transformed into hot-looking babes.”

Interestingly, Pavitra has shown that if you act well on screen, age is not a limitation. She had played a dumb blonde mother in Naagin 3, and she is now the main evil lead. “I am taking full advantage of the new supernatural trend. Dayaan is now #1 on &TV, pushing back even long-time channel driver, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain to #2 after Daayan. My friends now joke what other negative powers will you play next?” She was also part of Balaji’s other supernatural saga, Kavach… Kaali Shaktiyon Se.”

When asked about the not-so-great VFX on Daayan, she says, “This genre is mostly watched by kids, who even adore poppycock special effects.”

She adds, “The narrative is very interesting, for there could be more than one daayan; so stay tuned.”

Looking ahead, Pavitra, who has also done Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, again with Balaji, would want to essay similar levels of glamour in web series too. “Today, TV gals can give the looking women a run for their money”, says this gal, who made her small screen debut with MTV Splitsvilla, back in 2009.

However, being a smart cookie, Pavitra wants to go slow and steady with her oomph factor. “I don’t want to jump into a very bold avatar so early in my career, as it might end up typecasting me at a time when my career is beginning to bloom big time. So while I am game for attractive attire on digital, I will not do bedroom scenes.”

Way to go, girl!!
