In conversation with Anita Hassanandani

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has completed its beautiful course: Anita Hassanandani

Anita Hassanandani has more or less confirmed the news that STAR Plus show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is going off air. “I guess this Ekta Kapoor production has completed its beautiful course. Running for six years is no walk in the park. One big thing that kept us going, apart from a good story, was the great positive equation and vibes we main actors shared with each other. Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel are superb individuals to boot.”

Talking about her character, she says, “Shagun was a complete woman, full of all shades. I got a chance to play negative, mother and friend, all in one show. It kept me on my toes as something new kept popping up.”

“Now we had come to a point where all potential facets of all characters had been fully exhausted,” says Anita, who has also tried her hand at a web series i.e. ALTBalaji’s Galti Se Mistake.

Any sadness with it ending? “A little bit, as I am so attached to YHM. But again, every good thing must come to an end. I am looking for something fresh in the fiction space.”

Till then, Anita will do more reality shows after Khatron Ke Khiladi and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. Now she will be  a part of upcoming Colors prank show, Khatra Khatra Khatra. “I have always liked to make my friends bakra. We keep pulling such stunts on set. Even my hubby Rohit Reddy is a big prankster, always targeting me with his stupid antics.”

“The best part of our show is that you will see 5 friends (Bharti Singh, Vikas Gupta, Ridhima Pandit and Aly Goni) hanging out together, and every time someone will be the fall guy; so when making fun of others, we always fear what fate will befall us. I am ready to give as good as I get.”

“Be ready for lots of fun, gags and excitement. I am having a blast getting to see a newer side of myself.”

In closing, we ask Anita whether she would like to return to films, where she first started with a lead in Krishna Cottage. “I am not dying for it, but if some interesting role comes along, I will certainly take it up. TV has given me so much name and fame. I have virtually done all types of small screen characters (Kkavyanjali, Kayamath and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi).”
