Saath Nibhana Saathiya, the popular and long-running Rashmi Sharma show on Star Plus, has enjoyed a successful run for seven years now. The story, which began as the tale of two sisters Gopi and Rashi who get married to cousins of the same household, broke all barriers at the 7 PM slot on the channel. In fact, the show managed to etch its own success story as the slot leaders across all channels for many years.

The soap saw lot of hurdles in the form of the original Gopi’s exit (Giaa Manek replaced by Devoleena Bhattacharjee) followed by the exit of many prime characters. However, the story, its drama value kept the viewers engaged for all these years.

Now, as Saathiya gets set to bid adieu (as reported in the media), the TV viewing audience will indeed feel nostalgic, as the show has given great value to entertainment and drama over the years.

The soaring popularity of its lead cast, including senior artistes like Rupal Patel, Vandana Pathak, among others, are unparalleled. And Rashmi Sharma as the Producer indeed showed the TV industry that simple stories told with heart and soul, even without big faces will have its own successful journey.

With the news of Saathiya ending having been written about, there is a sudden shock wave in the industry, and this speaks volumes about the success rate that the show has achieved.

We at Indianwikimedia.com have further learnt that Saathiya will air its last episode on 25th of July.

For the renowned Producer Rashmi Sharma, this will mean the end of the road for one of her very successful shows. The only irony here being that the month of July will see two of her shows going off, and a very interesting coincidence to note here is that, both her show slots will be taken over by Shashi Sumeet Productions.

Yes, Jaat Ki Jugni, Rashmi’s show on Sony TV will be replaced by Pehredaar Piya Ki. And the ever-famous Saathiya will be replaced by the originally slotted Dopahar show, Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji, another show of Sumeet Mittal.

We buzzed Producer Rashmi Sharma, but could not get through to her.

We also reached out to Nazim and Devoleena, but they did not respond.

Very true, all good things have to come to an end. Let’s wave goodbye to the cast & crew of Saathiya.

And we hope that Rashmi Sharma continues to make engaging concepts for many more years to come.
