Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs: Shaan sings his ode to the Cancer cause

With every episode, the super talented Li’l Champs continue to deliver breath-taking performances and winning hearts of the audience on Zee TV’s popular show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs.

This week, the show extended a hand of solidarity to the ‘Indian Cancer Society’, India’s first voluntary, non-profit, National Organization for awareness, detection, cure and survivorship of those affected with this disease. Young Saujanya, who fought cancer with the help of Indian Cancer Society, had recently participated in the auditions for this season. She made a comeback to the platform in this special episode dedicated to the cause where she crooned beautifully to the song ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’ in front of judges Richa Sharma, Shaan, Amaal Mallik and dignitaries from Indian Cancer Society – the managing trustee Mr. Naveen Kshatriya, Trustee in charge Dr Purna Kurkure and Director Vandana Pathak.

Right after Saujanya performed, Amaal shared how her story and singing reminded him of his grandfather (Nana) who he lost to cancer. On the other hand, Richa Sharma expressed that ‘I will be obliged, if I can support you in any manner’.

It was an equally special moment when Emmanuel, another talented cancer survivor supported by Indian Cancer Society came on stage and sang the song ‘Hum Hai Ugam’ with judge Shaan. Shaan revealed that this was a song he had actually sung and composed as an anthem for the Indian Cancer Society 8 years ago and that he was grateful to Zee TV for getting him to recreate this anthem on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs after all these years!

The dignitaries of Indian Cancer Society took to the stage and shared awareness about their movement. They spoke of how cancer – if detected early especially amongst children, has high chances of complete recovery and how their experience of treating the disease is not just about healing the patients physically but about counselling and hand-holding them on an emotional level for social adjustments and cultivating the right positive approach in life!

It’s time to think of what you are doing as individuals to support the cause of children with cancer! Donate, volunteer, collaborate, accept cancer patients- help remove the myths and stigma. It is the least you can do for the noble cause!
