Salman Khan is very well known for his passion be it painting or fitness or more recently singing! From Main Hu Hero Tera, to Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai and Jumme Ki Raat Hai amongst others, have all been chartbusters. However, it is said that Salman recently auditioned at The Voice India Kids platform! Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are currently promoting their latest film Tiger Zinda Hai and they chose &TV’s popular music reality show The Voice India Kids as their next stop. On the set, Salman surprised one and all as he took over the stage and insisted that he will sing for the coaches – Shaan, Papon, Palak Muchhal and Himesh Reshammiya.
A source from the set adds, “It was so spontaneous, that Katrina took Papon’s seat and joined the panel as Salman appealed to them that he has been trying his hand at singing but hasn’t got his dues yet. He added that he will try and recreate the same magic by singing the same songs sung by the mahaan singer Salman Khan. He is quite an entertainer!”
Amidst a huge round of applause, he began his performance with the popular song “Main hu hero tera”, from the movie Hero. While a smile crept on the faces of everyone present, he continued to serenade the audience with “Tu hi tu har jagah” from the movie Kick and culminated the audition with the very popular “Jag Ghoomeya” from the movie Sultan. As the medley ended the audience kept requesting him to continue singing and the energies were running high on the set. He turned to the panel of coaches humbly and asked for their comments and requested them to be kind to him.
Katrina played her part to the T and began with, “What’s your name and where have you come from?” Their candid banter was rather cute and the onlookers kept looking from Salman to Katrina as Salman bowled her questions just like a contestant. Katrina then ended with, “Keep practicing more and you will become a very good singer one day.”
But as the buck passed on the other coaches, both Himesh Reshammiya and Palak Muchhal who consider Salman Khan to be their mentor, seemed to be in a fix. But they did go on to pull Salman’s leg and the actor egged them on sportingly.
Said Himesh, “What do you think… Have you managed to sing better than Salman Bhai, who sang the original song? But, I would like to add that it was Salman Khan who identified my potential and gave me a chance in the industry. Similarly, I would also like to give you an opportunity to realize your singing dream.”
Palak was quick to add, “I am in complete agreement with Himesh sir. No one can match up to Salman sir, but I will try to speak to him and request him to give you a chance.”
As everyone enjoyed this fun moment with the artists, the kids geared up to floor Salman and Katrina with their performances.
