Just like two or more feature films clashing at the boxoffice, we now have two major digital series being released together on July 10. Breathe 2 Into The Shadows where Abhishek Bachchan makes his digital debut comes from Amazon while Undekhi, a dark suspense thriller featuring an interesting ensemble cast is from Sony-LIV.

Grabbing eyeballs would be a challenge for both the high-profile series and may the best one win.

Abhishek Bachchan is going digital for the first time in Breathe 2 Into The Shadows. The performance and the content are expected to make a huge impact on Abhishek’s career. Sources say he has given all of himself and then some more to the role of a distraught father looking for his kidnapped daughter.

“It is a character close to my heart. Of course I give all of myself to everything I play. But I really threw myself into this one,” says Abhishek. He says he is proud of being part of something as rousing as this.

Abhishek who has completed 20 years of acting feels he is just starting out. “Breathe 2 is a new format. I felt as excited and nervous shooting it as I did my first film, my mentor and guru J P Dutta Saab’s Refugee 20 years ago.”

Abhishek enjoyed romancing the digital domain. “The OTT platform is so much broader and yet not a moment is wasted. Our webseries was put together exactly like a feature film.We shot Breathe 2 in some of the most difficult shooting spots with maximum emphasis on quality. In fact the accent on quality on the OTT platform is very high. The product must not seem compromised as compared with a made-for-theatre product. My father’s Gulabo Sitabo was made for the large screen (though premiered on the OTT platform last month due to the Coronavirus) while my Breathe 2 was designed for the digital domain. But the production values for both are equally caliber-conscious.”

Abhishek feels the OTT platform is where the future is. “It can never replace the movie experience. But the digital platform is where the action is right now. As an actor it allows you to breathe.”

There is no much that is Undekhi on the digital platform that we barely get a chance to Breathe.
