SonyLIV’s upcoming web series Avrodh: The Siege Within showcases what went into the planning of the 2016 surgical strike conducted by the Indian army on terror launch pads across Line of Control (LoC).
Darshan Kumaar, who plays the character of Major Raunaq Gautam, is glad to be associated with the series. Major Raunak Gautam is a family man, who is unable to meet his daughter. He joins the mission to take revenge for the death of his best friend in the attack.
Talking about the project, he mentioned, “It was an amazing experience to play the role of Major Raunaq Gautam. We used to get trained every day to get the body language of the character. I still remember the moment when I wore the uniform for the first time, the feeling was surreal.”
When asked what made him say yes for the project, he shared, “I was hooked by the story and was also deeply affected by it. The story made me feel patriotic. After reading the script and the journey of the character, I felt like joining the army. Avrodh is a real story and it will keep you on the edge of your seat.”
