Exclusive: Iqbal Khan to lead the vertical drama Operation Suhaag

We at IWMBuzz.com were the first to report on Iqbal Khan’s new project. We later got to talk to him in detail about his latest work and more. We also have an exclusive look picture of Iqbal Khan from the project.

Talking about the one-of-a-kind vertical concept he will be seen in, Iqbal states, “It is one of the first on the web when it comes to the shorter format content. The series has been shot completely outdoors in Kashmir. When I read this script, the feeling was unlike any other regular script that we have seen. It is indeed commendable that the team could shoot at great locations and deliver the kind of action that the script demanded, for this kind of content and format. Overall, it was a lovely experience.”

Exclusive: It is a well-shot espionage thriller, one of a kind in this format: Iqbal Khan on his upcoming work 977721

Talking more on the concept, Iqbal says, “It is a well-shot espionage thriller. It is not called Operation Suhaag, though. It is tentatively titled Operation Chinaar. I play a raw agent. The story and its approach to the main problem at hand are not regular, and have a different take. What you will see is not a regular enemy; there is a twist.”

On his sheer determination to pick up roles that are extremely varied and unique, Iqbal, as humble as always, thanks his stars, saying, “God has been kind. When I look at my work profile and its graph, barring one or two, it seems I have done good work. But I take zero credit for it. Trust me, there is a backstory for every project I have done. They just happened to me, and I have been lucky.”

Appreciating the content being made for the vertical format, he says, “It is good to see this format working. For example, the series I have worked on has a gripping story and was shot at locations not seen on Indian vertical formats before. The look and feel of it is huge, and you will get to see good performances.”

On the kind of work that draws him to it, Iqbal states, “I will be frank with you, I look for decent kind of work. That can happen on any platform. I will never use the phrase,  “I will not work for a particular medium”. The main idea is to do good work, period.”

On his upcoming projects, Iqbal quips, “I have a couple of things lined up this year. I will be able to finish work on these before this Christmas.”

The actor hints at a family vacation coming soon. “I plan to take my family out for New Year’s. I am thankful to God that he has put me in a place where I can do something nice for my family and children. The family will decide where we go.”
