Kusha Kapila, the rising star, has gained widespread recognition for her iconic sketches featuring the popular character ‘Billi Masi,’ a South Delhi girl celebrated for her remarkable traits. In the second season of the hit Netflix series, Maamla Legal Hai, directed by Rahul Pandey and co-written by Saurabh Khanna and Kunal Aneja, Kusha takes on the role of Advocate Naina Arora. In this season, she finds herself embroiled in a fierce courtroom showdown with Advocate Ananya, portrayed by Naila Grewal.
As a new entrant into the highly popular series in Season 2, Kusha is grateful for getting the opportunity to be on the most happening sets of Maamla Legal Hai. Letting out her emotions, she speaks of her experience in an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, “I am very happy. This is a big show and a much-loved show. I watched Season 1 of Maamla Legal Hai in one go. It has an incredible cast. I am happy to be a part of a well-written, well-performed and well-received show. I just hope my part is loved as much.”
Speaking about her nervous energies when she was on the set for the first time, Kusha says, “I was very nervous when I was on the set on my first day. When I saw Anant and Naila and how quickly they became their characters, I was tense. I had intense and aggressive scenes with Naila. It took me 1 or 2 days to get into my own. I told myself that this is a totally collaborative unit, and I needed to listen, grasp and align my actions accordingly. After that, it was a smooth sail, huge thanks to my co-actors. I was well taken care of on the set.”
On the much-anticipated Season 2 of Maamla Legal Hai, Kusha states, “The Season 2 comes with a huge buzz, with double, triple the chaos and fun. The writing has gotten stronger, as if it wasn’t already. Even though it leans into the season it has come from, it is not afraid to go into new places, which will take people aback at what they are watching.”
Finally, without batting an eyelid, Kusha states, “I hope people like this version of the South Delhi girl I have played here. My expectation is that there should be a Season 3 for Maamla Legal Hai. There is no bigger compliment than the decision of the channel to green-light another season.”
All the very best!!
