Alekh Sangal the young and dashing actor has been having a whale of a time on the medium of the web. He has had recent releases in Dil Bekaraar on Disney Plus Hotstar and Inside Edge 3 on Amazon Prime. He will be seen soon in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s sci-fi series Escaype Live.
Says Alekh on Escaype Live, “This is going to be a very interesting series. I shot for this right after I got Covid last year. It has been a long journey. It is genuinely a very rare series to be made in India. Working with actor Siddharth has been one of the best experiences I have had in my entire career.”
Talking about his recent series Dil Bekaraar and Inside Edge, Alekh states, “Dil Bekaraar was a show set in the ’80s. That is the world they have tried to recreate. So it had a different look and feel to it. Inside Edge was great for me in Season 3. I was introduced at the end of Season 2, and I was glad that my journey with the series continued in Season 3 too. It was a huge contrast for me with these two series. But I had a good enough gap in between both the shoot. I was lucky that I had my work spread out over the last year. I can happily say that I was juggling between all three series. Despite all the challenges, I had a good year in 2021.
Alekh will also be seen in the musical web series The Socho Project. “I also have Mrinal and Abhigyan Sir’s The Socho Project where I have a cameo performance. It is a musical web series and it was fun shooting for it.”
Alekh who got popular on TV with Suhaani Si Ek Ladki, says, “I did meet a couple of people for TV shows. But I have been told not to take up TV right now. Frankly speaking, if we get into TV, we will not be open to the kind of roles and shoot scenario that the web medium looks forward to. There is so much of work happening on the web right now, so I will want to wait and pick the best.”
With a wide variety of work being made available on the web, Alekh feels that it is a tough ask to choose the best of projects that are available on the web. “One has to get very lucky too in the platform of web. There was a chacha in the series Mirzapur and he became so famous. For me also, doing Inside Edge 2 where I was only in 2 episodes, and now in Season3, I was part of 7 episodes was a good phase. There is so much happening on the web that I do not want to miss out on the fun.”
He adds on, “I have been lucky so far that I have got platforms like Amazon Prime, Disney Plus Hotstar. There are so many new platforms too coming up with every passing day. It is exciting as well as scary too as you do not want to be a part of something that you will regret. I feel you should just go with the flow and take the best from what is being offered.”
