Dalljiet Kaur gets talking about her stint in the ALTBalaji series, Boss Baap of Special Services. Read it here.

Karan Singh Grover is one of the better actors around: Dalljiet Kaur

Dalljiet Kaur, currently seen in Zee TV show Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega, is very happy with her stint in new ALTBalaji show, BOSS: Baap of Special Services.

Says Dalljiet, “One of the main reasons for saying yes was that although I was not seen much, my psychotic character’s murderous actions drive the whole show. Director Ankush Bhatt calls me the surprise packet of Boss. I was very satisfied with the kind of scenes I got.”

“Also, the script and shooting style (lots of outdoor) is very different from what we normally see on TV.”

When pointed out about her underplaying the killing, Dalljiet says, “As an actor, I don’t believe that you need to dress or talk loud before doing all the mean (as in Guddan as well) stuff, as you would not want to draw attention to yourself, right? And in Boss, my character is a good housewife who goes crazy once a year. The accidental killing of her child totally tips her over.”

“Here, I must again thank Ankush for giving me the creative liberty to do as I please and for having confidence in my abilities. The icing on the cake was working with Balaji again, which is like home after Qayamat Ki Raat.”

How was the shooting experience in snowy Shimla? “Superb fun! We would all gather together around the heater after the shoot, to beat the biting cold,” says Dalljiet, who has been around TV for many years, doing shows such as Kulvadhu, Chhoona Hai Aasmaan, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Kaala Teeka.

She also enjoyed working with Mahesh Shetty in Boss, who plays her protective police commissioner husband, getting her kids to slaughter every year. “He is a humble guy and a powerful actor. The murder scenes were quite whacky, if you think about it.”

Talking on the reaction, Dalljiet says, “We are number 1 on IMDB and even trending all over. This had to be, for Karan Singh Grover is one of the better actors around. The best thing I like about him is his spontaneity and I am always fond of actors armed with calibre. Whenever I see his scenes, I always learn a new way of acting. I would love to work with him again in a role where our characters have much more interaction.”

“Sagarika Ghatge was equally good in Boss, congo to the entire team,” adds she.

In closing, Dalljiet would be open for more interesting web series. However, she is not very comfortable going dare-bare. “Here too, I was dressed from top to toe.”
