Popular actress Khushi Dubey is thrilled about her upcoming role in the OTT series Welcome to Khoya Mahal, which is to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The series is directed by renowned filmmakers Konkana Sen Sharma and Jaydeep Sarkar. Khushi expresses her sincere gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting that her decision to join the cast was largely influenced by her desire to work on a project with Konkana Sen Sharma.
In an exclusive talk with IWMBuzz.com, Khushi says, “The biggest reason for accepting the project was to work under the direction of Konkona Sen Sharma Ma’am. I have always admired her as an actor and seen her work as a director. So I really wanted to experience working under her direction — and I feel very lucky that I got that opportunity.”
Recollecting her first interaction with Konkana, Khushi narrates, “I met her for the first time during a cast reading. She immediately greeted me by name and welcomed me warmly. After the reading, she personally came up to me and appreciated my performance, saying I performed it beyond just a reading. That moment was very special for me — I was honestly in seventh heaven from day one.”
Talking about the series, Khushi states, “The show is very beautiful and lighthearted, but also has a lot of twists and turns. In simple words, it’s a complete package. I can’t reveal much right now, but I’m too excited for it.”
Khushi, who was hugely admired for her performance in Gul Khan’s web series Aashiqana, says, “It was a great experience to share screen space with Aditi Rao Hydari Ma’am and Varun Sood Sir.”
Khushi, who has previously worked on OTT projects with Hotstar (formerly Disney+Hotstar), found it special to be part of the Amazon Prime Video family. The teaser for Welcome to Khoya Mahal has generated buzz, showcasing the hotel’s quirky characters and eerie atmosphere. With Konkona Sen Sharma’s creative vision and a talented ensemble cast, this series is shaping up to be a must-watch.
