A visionary in the Indian television industry, Krishna Ponia began his journey as a creative professional, contributing to several successful television shows before transitioning to a Producer. With a deep-rooted passion for Indian mythology and ancient history, he produced two acclaimed mythological web series for Prasar Bharati, “Mahima Devguru Brihaspati Ki” and “Shukracharya – Sukhon Ke Dev.”
Continuing his pursuit of storytelling excellence, Krishna Ponia has now taken a monumental leap by writing JioHotstar’s groundbreaking AI-enabled epic saga, Mahabharat. The show, created by Collective Media Network’s Historyverse, is based on the timeless masterpiece written by Maharshi Ved Vyas. The makers of the show are Vijay Subramaniam, Sudeep Lahiri and Pinky Reddy.
This Mahabharat marks a global milestone as the world’s first-ever completely AI-driven mythological series, blending the depth of ancient wisdom with the innovation of modern technology, a true testament to Krishna Ponia’s creative evolution and pioneering spirit.
Krishna Ponia emphasises that what people often refer to as mythology should, in fact, be recognised as India’s ancient history. “This is not mythology,” he states firmly, “because we all know that our gods truly existed. The Archaeological Department of India has already unearthed significant evidence of Lord Krishna and Lord Ram’s existence.”
He further adds, “It’s fascinating that foreign nations are studying, following, and even celebrating our culture and deities, while we, the inheritors of this glorious heritage, still hesitate to acknowledge it as our history. It’s time we take pride in our roots and present our ancient wisdom to the world with authenticity and confidence.”
