The Vampire Diaries controlled the airwaves from September 10, 2009, when it debuted on the CW network, through March 10, 2017, when the final episode aired, with 171 episodes distributed across eight seasons. From the first episode, the show was a smash, attracting a large and devoted following. While viewers continued to follow Elena, Damon, and Stefan’s love triangle, the cast worked even harder to earn an incredible amount of accolades. The Vampire Diaries, in particular, earned countless nominations and won multiple accolades.

Fans were enthralled by the developing relationships between Stefan and Elena, Damon and Elena, Bonnie and Jeremy, Jeremy and his exes, Stefan and Caroline, Caroline and Klaus, Tyler, Matt, and others, as well as the wars between supernaturals in Mystic Falls, which included werewolves, vampires, witches, witch-vampire hybrids, vampire hunters, vampire-werewolf hybrids, and ghosts, who lived among a majority of people who were unaware of the danger. Not to mention the local politics, which took the shape of the Founders’ Council.

The Vampire Diaries was a fan favorite for masterfully combining horror, soap opera, and drama while dishing us a deep tale that occasionally grew perplexing due to new supernatural answers. The main disadvantage is that we never took some passes seriously, assuming that there will be a remedy later in the season.

Here are 3 Vampire Diaries mistakes that fans completely missed.

1. Limited Vampire Knowledge

Stefan and Damon Salvatore, 162-year-old and 168-year-old vampires, respectively, were introduced to the series. Despite their advanced age, the Salvatore brothers had no idea what vampires were!

2. Damon’s Ability To Produce Fog And Crows

Damon was cast as the ideal villain in the Vampire Diaries. In the pilot, he was also shown as a vampire with intriguing paranormal abilities. In the first episode of the series, we meet Damon, who has the ability to create fog, which is followed by the emergence of crows made of thin air. We recognized him right once as the enigmatic, frightening, and unpredictable Salvatore brother.

3. Klaus AND THE HYBRIDS

Klaus’s absence would have been preferable to the Mikaelson family. Klaus inherited the werewolf gene, making him the family’s ‘black sheep.’ His biological parents want him to be removed from the picture. As a result, he grew reclusive and suffered from a wide range of trust difficulties. Fortunately for him, he had the option of forming his own hybrid family line.
