The release of Kennedy during Ramadan holds a deeply personal meaning for Aamir Dalvi, who is making his Bollywood debut with the film. The timing, the actor says, has added an unexpected emotional layer to what is already a defining phase in his journey.
Reflecting on the coincidence of faith and career, Aamir shares, “My first Bollywood release coming during Ramadan feels special. It’s a month that naturally makes you pause, reflect, and stay honest with yourself. Somewhere, it feels like this moment has come with its own sense of balance.”
The actor reveals that he will be fasting for the first few days of Ramadan while continuing to shoot for an ongoing project. Balancing fasting with work has brought a different kind of awareness. “When you’re fasting and shooting, you automatically slow down internally. You become more conscious of your energy, your thoughts, and even your reactions. It’s demanding, but it also brings a certain clarity,” he says.
Rather than viewing the moment as a loud milestone, Aamir sees it as a quiet one. “I’m not trying to celebrate it in a big way. I’m just grateful that I’m working and releasing my first film during a time that means something to me spiritually. That feeling is enough.”
Aamir Dalvi plays the role of Salim Kattawala in Kennedy, a character defined by restraint, silence, and an unsettling stillness. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film stars Rahul Bhat alongside Sunny Leone and unfolds as a bleak, immersive noir where survival comes at a cost. The film premieres on ZEE5 on February 20.
